Laser Hair Removal Men
MEN! Wouldn’t you like once and for all to do something about your unwanted hair? You will never have to worry about shaving, waxing or skin irritations again. In our medical spa we offer a highly safe and effective treatment to permanently remove unwanted hair. It works on any treatment area where smooth skin is desired. Our Lumenis Lightsheer Laser system is the best hair removal system on the market for all skin tones.
Whether it be shaving or waxing, both methods are time consuming and costly over your lifetime. Shaving presents the obvious problem of reach. It’s nearly impossible to shave your own back, and it can be even more frustrating and embarrassing to find someone to do the job for you. The problem with waxing is that the results don’t last long; you have to go back every three to four weeks to get waxed again, which ends up being rather costly and painful to say the least.
Laser hair removal is growing in popularity with men. At Wright Surgical Arts Med Spa the most commonly treated areas for men are backs, shoulders, chest and abs. We also treat a lot of men’s beards and necklines to reduce the appearance of the five o’clock shadow and the irritation involved in shaving this area where the hair grows in all different directions and is prone to ingrown hairs or a condition known as folliculitis.
What To Expect
Laser treatment for unwanted hair is a non-invasive approach to permanent reduction and long-term hair removal. Permanent laser hair removal treatment is specially designed to safely eliminate undesired hair from all areas of the body. Because the light affects hair follicles only when they are in the growth phase, more than one laser hair removal treatment is necessary to destroy hair follicles that enter the growth phase next. During your laser hair removal consultation, you will be advised as to the approximate number of treatments necessary for optimum results. Clinical studies indicate that typically six or more treatments are needed at intervals of one month.
A treatment consists of passing the Intense Pulse Light wand over your skin. As the lasers wide beam of light penetrates your skin, it is absorbed by the melanin or pigment in the hair follicles. The heat generated by the light destroys the follicle causing the hair to fall out. Unfortunately, Laser Hair Removal does not work on blond or gray hair.
Most people report minimal discomfort due to the laser being constantly in motion, treatment is more similar to a hot stone massage than traditional laser hair removal where a single high dose of energy is applied to the hair follicle, resulting in both pain and potential burns.
